Paris Day 2 - In which Tricia faces her fears

Ah yes we were in Paris!

And so to the first full day. My friend Trish was determined to get beyond the second level of the Eifel tower  and as the weather forecast for the weekend were poor and as we poked head outside of the hotel it was dry off we trotted....

Here it is Trish now stop b*gg*r*ng about taking pictures of House Sparrows....

IT's a bit big!

and tall!!

But our heroine made it up and was greeted with fine views.....

The weather was dull and grey but as soon as we got down the sun came out...

This young lady was part of a fashion shoot.

Heading up the Champs Elysees. It's lovely and wide so never felt crowded

Ah the Arc De Triomphe. You get to it via a an underpass.

Ah here she is our heroine with her usual lunchtime tipple a glass of Red :D We had lunch on the Champs Elysees to celebrate her triumph.

The Grand and Petit Palais

So to the Hotel De Invalides

Les Invalides was built by Louis XIV in the 1670's for old or invalid soldiers. Today Louis' chapel of Les Invalides church houses the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte (they were placed there in 1861). Les Invalides has a garden, museum and the church. It's a beautiful place.

Napoleon's tomb which is in the chapel of the church which you now visit separately.

The church.....

And so endeth the first full day in Paris.

Great to see Paris in bandw Pete. I think Tricia was really brave! I would have needed several glasses of le vino before even attempting getting to top of Eiffel Tower :)
